60 Second Jam | Louisa Menke

December 17th, 2020

As the first European woman with a pro model board almost two decades ago, Louisa Menke is somewhat of a skateboarding pioneer. Louisa was born in Algeria, raised in Holland and now lives in Barcelona, where you can find her skating at MACBA and playing music with her band Lou Lou and the Get It.

An all-round creative, Louisa also makes art and shoots photos. She was part of the Yeah Girl photo show in 2016, 2018 and 2019. Check out her photography and learn more about her work in our Behind the Lens interview that appeared in the 2018 Yeah Girl zine.

For our second installment of 60 Second Jam, the series that highlights the crossover between skateboarding and music, Louisa talks about the music in her first video part, what she would choose for a new part, and more. Then she plays us a song she wrote about a shooting star she saw that turned into a bomb.
