To release the Alexis Sablone One Star Pro, Alexis has directed a donation to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
Converse introduced Alexis Sablone’s 2020 One Star Pro with video above, where Alexis talks about growing up skateboarding in her garage and having a private space to skate in the harsh NY winters.
On the importance of the donation to NAACP Alexis says, “This project was conceived of months ago, but with all of the changes we’ve been experiencing, it feels like a lifetime. I originally thought I might be wearing these in Tokyo next month—I looked forward to that as a potentially life-changing moment for me. But today, as people from coast to coast stand up together for equality, to end racism and make this country a better place, it feels like a life changing moment for us all”.
