BOWLZILLA Gold Coast was the stereotype of a perfect Gold Coast day with sunshine, skateboarding and good vibes overflowing in the bowl.

On March 14th, just before COVID-19 became serious in Australia, the annual BOWLZILLA skate festival went down at Elanora Skate Park on the Gold Coast. With everything that has happened in the last week it almost feels like a lifetime ago, but what better time to look back on the good times spent with friends in the sun.

Yeah Girl is proud to have supported the event again this year, partnering with BOWLZILLA to push equality and create and inclusive event. The week kicked off with the Pre-Party at Beach Burrito Co where we screened womxn’s skate videos by Adelaide Norris and The Skate Witches.

Saturday was the main event and the the womxn’s division was action packed. Indiana Barnard secured first place with her feeble up the escalator into the full pipe (!!), followed by Charlotte Heath in second and Gracie Cochrane in third. And a special mention to Shari Duffy who was once again Head Judge for all divisions.

At the official After Party that night the celebrations and festivities continued. We teamed up with Girls Skate Brisbane and Lil Grl Art and displayed their Big Deck Energy art show with work by Nicolette Gentles, Rachel Dunn, Mickey Evelyn, Claudia Garde, Sam Taylor, Indigo Willing, and more.
