The very first Women’s Battle at the Berrics came to a head last night with 5 skaters battling it out in 4 games of S.K.A.T.E.
In an unexpected turn of events Christiana Means announced that she was giving up her place in the finals to compete in the SEA Games in the Philippines. Chelsea Castro and Monica Torres were left to fight it out in a redemption battle to see who would take her spot.
Switching up the brackets once again, Candy Jacobs announced that she wouldn’t be competing in the finals due to an injury. As a result, the two skaters she defeated had to battle once again for a chance to take her place in the Final Four. And so finals night kicked off with a WBATB redemption battle between Alexis Sablone and Jenn Soto.
Though she was defeated in her second game of S.K.A.T.E in WBATB, Monica Torres got a second chance after winning the redemption battle against Chelsea Castro. For the first semi-final match Monica went head to head with Lacey Baker.
Alexis Sablone came out on top after her redemption battle with Jenn Soto and secured her spot in the Final Four. She went up against Samarria Brevard in game two of the semi-finals.
And then just like that, we found ourselves at the final game for the first ever Women’s Battle at the Berrics with Alexis Sablone and Monica Torres battling it out for the top spot. You can watch the entire finals night live stream, including the final game, over here. We’ll spare you the spoiler. Enjoy!
