Tall Poppy: A Skater’s Story, the documentary film about Australian skateboarder Poppy Starr Olsen, is now available to watch online.
Every skateboarder has their own opinion about skateboarding’s inclusion in the Olympics. But what does it actually mean for a skater to set their sights on the Olympic podium and chase that dream — to become an athlete, not just a skateboarder?
Tall Poppy follows the journey of Poppy Starr Olsen from when she was 8 years old skating at her local park in Bondi, Australia, to 2020 as she prepares for the Tokyo Olympic Games. The film gives us a look into the private life of an Olympic skateboarder, navigating a complicated relationship with her mother-turned-manager, adjusting to the new competitive landscape, becoming the number one female park skater in Australia, and holding onto her Olympic dreams and a long-distance relationship through COVID.
The film is now available to watch on iTunes (in most countries) and on Vimeo On Demand in multiple languages (except in Australia).
