For the eighth year running Exposure brought together skateboarders from around the world for the largest international women’s skateboard contest.
This year they switched things up a bit and moved from their usual location in Encinitas to the Vans off the Wall Skatepark in Huntington Beach. The prize purse hit a record high of $60k but even with so much money on the line, the contest was still the heart-warming display of camaraderie and stoke that we’ve come to expect from this event.
The lineup of skaters included crowd favorites like Samarria Brevard, Nicole Hause, Lizzie Armanto and Jordyn Barratt, as well as young-guns like Ruby Trew and the UK’s Lola Trambling. From the vert ramp to the park, and then onto the street course, it was a non-stop day of back-to-back contests, hammers and good times.
Norma Ibarra and Belén Guzmán from UCanSkate were there to support their crew from Mexico and get the shots. Here’s what went down at Exposure 2019 as seen through their lenses.
