Our favorite skateboard festival returns to the Gold Coast, Australia, this week for back-to-back events celebrating all the great talents of the skateboarding community with art, music, learn to ride clinics, food, parties and of course the competition.
BOWLZILLA Gold Coast is the biggest skateboard festival this year for Australia. It is the ASF National Park Skating Championships and has the highest prize money in the country. It’s not all about the contest though — there’s a whole week of action before Saturday’s big event.
To kick things off, Yeah Girl is teaming up with Gold Coast Skateboard Coaching for our Girls* Skate Session, BBQ and Hang at Tugun Skatepark today, March 10th. This is a free all ages and abilities event for non-cisgender male skaters, including women, trans, non-binary and/or gender non-conforming.
On Thursday, get down to Beach Burrito in Coolangatta for the official pre party with live music by Chutney, womxn’s skate vids from Adelaide Norris and The Skate Witches, beers and good times.
Saturday, March 14th, is the main event with the BOWLZILLA 2020 National Park Skating Championships going down at Elanora Skatepark. This is the highest paid equality in skateboarding event in Australia with equal prize money for both the mens and women’s divisions.
Last, but definitely not least, we’ll go out with a bang at the official after party presented by Yeah Girl. After the contest, it’s back to Beach Burrito Company for live music and the “Big Deck Energy” art show by Girls Skate Brisbane and Lil Grl Art.
