Not long after joining the Converse CONS team, Alexis Sablone releases her first signature skate shoe — a customized One Star Pro.
Starting with her favorite skate silhouette, the One Star Pro, Alexis looked to modify two details that would keep up with her powerful flick: additional grip and durability. Sablone’s signature shoe features an additional piece of rubber on the toe vamp as well as a double-stitched, reinforced eye row to enhance the shoe’s durability and further balance padding with board-grip control.
The white suede shoe with gold star, baby blue sockliner, and “Alexis” stamped in gold foil, is designed for on- and off-board wearability.
“I think just the fact that there’s a physical shoe out in the world with my name in it—it’s not why I skateboard—but it feels really rewarding and surreal,” Alexis told Vogue.
The shoe comes in unisex sizing — another important feature for Sablone who said, “skateboarding is for everyone. I’ve grown up skating with mostly guys my whole life, but I skate with a lot of girls, too. I’m a female, and the shoe has my name on it, but I don’t think it should be limited to one gender. The sizing makes the statement that it’s for every skater.”
The Alexis Sablone One Star Pro releases June 1.
